After a hiatus of several years The Art Group (U.K.) has published several of Robert Mapplethorpe's superb floral photographs. The surreal beauty of these pieces shows once again why Mapplethorpe was one of the best master photographers of the 20th century. His Orchids 1982 and 1985 have a zen quality to them while Orchids 1988 is reminiscent of the Art Deco period.
